How an engagement runs

Four steps. We stay for the last one.

We take a small number of mandates at a time and we choose them. The process below is how we decide, and how the work runs once we have.

01

Enquiry

You complete the enquiry form. It asks what you want in Asia, what you have, your timeline and who decides. We read every one personally, and we reply to every one within three working days, including the ones we decline.

02

Assessment

If it fits, a 45 minute call with one or both of us. We tell you whether it will work, where, and with whom. If it won't, we say so and, where we can, point you to who can help. No charge, no deck.

03

Open

Terms agreed, we open the doors. Research and due diligence first, then named introductions in the right order, with us in the room. You meet owners and decision makers, not intermediaries.

04

Structure and stay

We structure the transaction, negotiate the terms and see it to signature. Then we stay in it, as a partner with a stake in the outcome, because that is how deals in Asia hold.

Who we work with

Established Western companies, founder, family or private equity owned, with real revenue and a serious intent to be in Asia within 18 months. And, on the other side, Asian owners and families looking for the right Western partner or asset. We are selective because we put our own name and time into every mandate.

What we are not

Not a consultancy that writes a report and leaves. Not an introducer who makes a call and disappears. Not a retainer that runs while nothing happens. We are paid when something closes, and we are still there afterwards.

How we are paid

A scoped fee where there is defined work to do, a success fee on signature, and equity or a principal position where we take one. Terms are agreed in writing before the first introduction is made.

Both directions

Western companies into Hong Kong, China and Southeast Asia, and Asian companies into the UK, Europe and the US. The same two partners, the same process, the same promise to stay in the deal.

Start with the form. We'll take it from there.
